kosheen - hungry (bent remix)

for hungry bent took the original and did some resculpting in the original to form a smoother ride. the incline is done better and with added strings and the drums are replaced with crunchier kits and also added is nice pads and just generally the bent magic that they normally sort out. it's a deephousey kind of ride which makes this all the best.

stakka bo - here we go

always liked this track since i heard it in the 90's because of it's funky flavour and it's acidjazz flirts but i never knew what johan (stakka bo) or oscar was on about since both of them didn't make mushc sense when i was a kid. it was a shocker once i look at the lyric sheets and see that it was about consumerism and the excessive spending that the westworld is doing.

oscar pulls of quite some funny & sharp lines such as 'shop till you drop has built this civilization / don't believe what you hear 'bout the next generation' and 'I'm acting irresponsible is that what you say / hey somalia got my toaster just the other day'.

the video featured a hot girl who fronted nana hedin's vocals, iirc the girl was either johan renck's girlfriend or a model, or both. nice flutebreak aswell

diana haddad - law madkhalt berasi

first time i heard this, i was just fixated by the guitar in the intro. they were not hooked to the main thing melodywise and it played weird and it put me off from the track since the intro was what i associated the track with. eventually i thought, i might be able to do something with those, sort out a beat to them and i actually did.

but anyhow, this was a big hit in the arab world and it's hits right at every point yunno, it was hard to escape it since of it's infectious nature. mindless habibi-pop at it's best i think.

lady gaga - poker face

heard this just now and i don't know what to think, it will probably be a big track with the fact that just dance was enormous but i despised it, nothing special in the track ye. this one well i though it would be sampling boney m since it used the 'ma,ma,ma,ma' thing from 'ma baker'. would have probably done better for it since that track kicks arse ye.

kardinal offshall - dangerous

this track is one of those tracks that plagues radio at the moment, it's not that bad actually but it does feature akon at his most whiny. akon who've always had this girly pitch of voice when singing and it works on some stuff but in all other respects it's barely listenable.
